“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”
Isaiah 43: 2 -3
In our journey of faith, we often encounter paths that seem longer and more rugged than we anticipated. We find ourselves facing challenges, trials, and uncertainties that cause us to question the direction we are heading. In these moments, it is important to remember that even when His way seems difficult, God’s way is always better.
The truth is, God’s way outweighs any conditions we may face because, in the midst of it all, He is with us. He promises to be with us, to walk alongside us, and to never leave us alone. Just as the Israelites passed through the waters and rivers without being overwhelmed, and walked through the fire without being burned, we too can trust that God will sustain us and protect us.
Trusting God’s way and God’s plan is not always easy. But when we chose to surrender our plans, our path, and our pace to God, we step into an eternal perspective. We acknowledge that His wisdom and understanding far surpass our own, and we recognize that His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). It is in this surrender that we find peace and rest, knowing that we are in the capable hands of our Heavenly Father.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9
Sometimes, surrendering can be challenging. We want to hold on tightly to our own agendas and desires, fearful of what lies ahead or unsure of where God may lead us. But when we release our grip and trust in God’s perfect plan, we allow Him to guide our steps and order our paths according to His will.
If like me, you’ve been feeling a push towards pursuing God more and allowing Him to work in your life, I want to encourage you to allow God to do His perfect work in you. There is a reason why God is placing this on your heart. Let us embrace this relentless pursuit of God, acknowledging that He is in control. Let us strive to wholeheartedly and actively seek a deep and intimate relationship with Him. This will involve a constant and unwavering commitment to know God more, to follow His will, and to align our lives with His purposes.
Embracing a relentless pursuit of God requires an attitude of persistence and determination. It means prioritizing Him above all else, seeking Him diligently through prayer, and studying His Word. It involves surrendering our own desires and agendas, allowing God to lead and guide us in every aspect of our lives.
Let us take comfort in the fact that He knows what is best for us and that His plans for our lives are good and purposeful (Jeremiah 29:11). As we surrender our will to His, we can rest assured that He will take us exactly where He wants us to be.
Let us affirm our trust in God’s way. Let us declare with confidence, “God, take me where You want me to go. I surrender my plans, my path, and my pace to You.” And as we walk this journey, may we remain steadfast in our faith, knowing that we will witness the goodness of the Lord in every step we take. Following Jesus is the best decision you can ever make.
This is where my heart is. I hope you will join me in embracing a relentless pursuit of God which I believe will lead to a transformative relationship with Him. It will bring us closer to His heart, allow us to experience His peace and joy, and empower us to live out His purposes in this world.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for your faithful presence in our lives. Help us to trust Your way, even when it seems longer or more rugged than we expected. We believe that Your way is always better, and we surrender our plan, path, and pace to You today.
As we pass through the waters and rivers, and walk through the fire, we thank You for being with us. Grant us the strength and courage to face every challenge, knowing that You will sustain us and protect us. Help us to embrace an eternal perspective and to rely on Your wisdom and understanding.
Lord, we trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for our lives. Take us where You want us to go and mold us into the people You want us to be. May our lives be a testament to Your faithfulness and love.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
