“…I asked for a change of character, a refreshed mind and knowledge from God in doing what is pleasing in His sight; since that prayer He has used the tool of morning devotions to show me His standard of Christian Living…”
The penetrating words of my monthly devotions have stirred my soul with a mix of conviction and conversion, which direct my thoughts & my efforts Heavenward. I have a rekindled faith in the power of God to uphold every good thing that is within me because it is from Him as Philippians 2:13 say’s…“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose”... I am able to say God has heard my prayers and is faithfully answering them continually. I asked for a change of character, a refreshed mind and knowledge from God in doing what is pleasing in His sight; since that prayer He has used the tool of morning devotions to show me His standard of Christian Living. I cannot enumerate the times God has given me a word but will confidently say that everyday since that prayer God has not failed.
I cannot encourage you enough friends, to pray earnestly to our Lord. Perpetuate the question “how can l please you Lord?” Ask Him daily to show you great things, God is faithful and He will not fail you. Trust the promise in Jeremiah 33:3 where God say’s ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ When you want something from a friend you might ask again and again because they need reminding. God does not need reminding but you must show Him you are serious about pleasing Him and knowing His will and ultimately becoming Christ like. He cannot withhold such precious “how to’s” from His children.
The mornings are my favorite time of day to wake and seek a word from God. However, l didn’t get here without a struggle. Many a times l would wake up and be so sleepy it was hard to concentrate and focus on the Blessing God had in store that morning. I faithfully committed this to prayer after attending a prayer conference where a Pastor told me that God has a promise even for waking us up in the mornings. I encourage you to take your bible and highlight this verse and claim it! The verse is Isaiah 50:4
“…He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear, To hear as the learned…”
I was so excited to bring this promise to God and see Him faithfully keep it. After awhile it got easier to stay awake. Now l cannot wait to rise to see the beauty and the faithfulness of God.
I hope dear friends that you would understand the powers of darkness and its thick choking fog that would cloud your minds, preventing you from seeing the necessity of personal devotion and how much of a blessing it is to give time to God. Let not your heart be burdened because you cannot commit. God will give you all that you need. You first need to purpose in your heart to do that which is good unto the Lord and He will walk you through it.
God bless, and enjoy your devotions!
